Tampa Bay Water

The Challenge Tampa Bay Water wanted to break away from the boring, corporate utility look that made them blend into the background. They needed a brand refresh that would make people actually care about their water utility - but here's the catch: everything had to meet strict ADA accessibility requirements. Most agencies see accessibility as a limitation, but working with Solar Jet Pro, we saw it as a creative challenge that would make the design stronger.
My Approach I managed the collaboration between our teams to put accessibility at the center, not the sidelines. Instead of designing first and checking compliance later, I coordinated the development of a comprehensive color matrix that pre-tested every possible text and background combination for WCAG contrast requirements. This meant we could be bold with color choices because we knew exactly what would work. I facilitated the workflow between Solar Jet Pro's creative team and accessibility consultants to create typography systems and flexible templates that looked vibrant but never compromised usability.
The Results Tampa Bay Water got a brand identity that actually reflected their community - bright blues and greens that felt like Florida, not like every other utility company. But more importantly, our collaborative approach proved that accessible design doesn't have to be bland design. The systematic process I managed meant their team could implement the brand confidently across all materials, knowing everything would be compliant and consistent. When accessibility drives creativity instead of limiting it, everyone wins - including the thousands of residents who can now actually read their utility's communications.
